The pilot of a blimp is being treated for burns but is “OK” after the aircraft crashed close to the site of the US Open on Thursday.
“Thanks to everyone for your concerns, the blimp pilot is being taken to the hospital but is expected to be ok,” said AirSign, which operates the craft, said in a statement on Twitter. “No details on cause of crash.” The company added that the pilot suffered some burns in the incident.
